The move comes on the heels of a high-profile incident where a Chinese vehicle owner was left stranded abroad after his car’s safety mechanisms inadvertently "bricked" key interior and infotainment features.
The Incident: A 30-Hour Cross-Border Ordeal
The controversy erupted after an owner from China’s Henan province—identified as Mr. Liu—embarked on a cross-continental road trip with his family in a Zeekr 9X. Intending to drive through Central Asia and into Europe, Liu crossed the border from China into Kazakhstan.
