Electric Buses Complete 776 km Nairobi–Moyale Journey Three electric buses have successfully completed a 776-kilometre journey from Nairobi to Moyale, providing a real-world demonstration of long-distance electric transport in East Africa. The trip formed part of the Road to Addis Ababa expedition connected with this week’s Nordic-Africa EV Summit in Addis Ababa. The buses used DC fast chargers in Thika and Nanyuki, with a portable charger supporting the Marsabit section of the route. The demonstration is significant for Ethiopia because it shows how an expanded cross-border charging network could eventually support electric buses, commercial vehicles and regional transport—not only city EVs.
